“When women are educated, their countries become stronger and more prosperous.”

— Michelle Obama

The Problems

  • Overcrowded Schools

Many schools have high student to teacher ratios, so teachers are not able to spend an adequate amount of time with each student and monitor their growth.

  • Low Technology Availabilty

While a number of low cost education resources are available online, many schools do not have the basic technology to access this material in a cost effective manner.

  • Lack of Outside Help

When children do not receive adequate support in school or from family members, the only other option is to get help from the outside, which is often too expensive.

Why does this matter?

When children do not receive tutoring, their learning outcomes decline. With limited resources to help them understand difficult concepts, they have trouble keeping up in class. This can be especially detrimental when learning key and fundamental educational aspects, which are the foundations towards understanding more complex concepts. Children who don’t have access to additional educational support are disadvantaged when applying to colleges, and are likely to end up in jobs with low pay and low growth prospects.

This propagates the vicious poverty cycle.
